The 66°North logo or brand mark is the most critical element of our visual identity. It is a unifying mark for all 66°North businesses around the world.
The 66°North brandmark comprises two inseparable components: A rectangular box containing “66°” and the wordmark writing “NORTH” or “NORÐUR,” which is presented in a clean, modern sans-serif typeface that suggests both simplicity and directness.
The 66°North brandmark is the primary visual expression used to identify all of the components of our platform. The lettering and the tab box have been specially created and are unique to 66°North.
You must always use the provided artwork for the logo and never try to recreate the lettering style in order to keep integrity and legibility.
As always, context informs the design; however, to ensure our work is recognizable to the customer, we have some rules that we start with:
The logo width (x) should be 1/6 of the shortest page axis, and the distance from the logo to the edge of the page should be x/2,6 of the logo width, rounded up to the nearest multiple of 8.
Our brand mark is most effective when clear of typography and any other graphic devices. Do not use the area of isolation as a frame for the logo.
In general, a larger amount of visually uninterrupted space should be kept clear for optimal visibility, impact, and consistent presentation.
Please use this monochrome version of the logo when it is necessary to use just one color to keep optimal contrast and legibility, e.g., silkscreen printing, printing in black and white, die-cutting, or embossing.
No other monochrome treatments are permitted, except with the graphic designer's confirmation for special use, e.g., on the packaging.
The monochrome version of the logo is used only in special circumstances, such as a logo mark in collaboration logotypes (examples) and on garment labels with a premium feel. The monochrome logo versions are without the rectangular.
No other color treatments are permitted; speak to brand@66north.com if your use case requires additional treatments.
Monochrome usage
